EXT. James' Apartment Door - Night

Establishing shot

Camera zooms in on James' door.

Music can be heard coming from James' apartment.

Cut To:

Int. James' Apartment Bedroom - Night

JAMES is working on homework while listening to his stereo very loudly.

Cut To:

Int. Next door College Dorm - Night

SARAH is laying in her bed trying to go to sleep.  AMANDA, Sarah's roommate, is sitting in her bed while reading a book.  James' music can be heard as it vibrates the entire room.  Sarah looks over at Amanda.

Sarah

You have to go over there.

AMANDA

What?  Why me?

SARAH

He's on your side of the room.

Amanda skeptically looks at Sarah.

Sarah (Cont.)

And I cleaned the bathroom last.

AMANDA

Using a cup of water to get all the hair down the drain does not count as 'cleaning.'

Amanda returns to her book.  Song ends.  Pause.  Then a louder more horrid song begins.

SARAH

Fine!  I'll go!

As Sarah is heard exiting the apartment, Amanda can be seen talking to herself:

AMANDA

Procrastinate long enough and the problem will resolve itself.

Amanda turns a page.

Cut To:

EXT. JAMES' APARTMENT - Night

Sarah walks over to James' Apartment.  She has a fist ready to 'let loose' on the door but she stops.  Sarah turns her fist and knocks politely, begrudgingly holding back her anger.

Cut To:

INT. JAMES' APARTMENT BEDROOM - NIGHT

James continues to listen to his music unknown to Sarah's knocking.

Cut To:

EXT. JAMES' APARTMENT - NIGHT

Sarah turns her knocking into a pound.

SARAH

Hey!

The music continues to play.  Sarah then bangs on the door with both of her hands.

SARAH

HEY!  Open up!

Cut To:

Int. James' Apartment - Night

James still listens to his music and remains unmoved by Sarah's efforts.

Cut To:

EXT. JAMES' APARTMENT - NIGHT

Sarah's hair and clothing is in disarray from her exhausted efforts.

Sarah then takes a step back from the door as she looks to check if no one is around.

Sarah then bears down and from the bottom of her diaphragm comes a loud and long scream.  Unfortunately, Sarah's scream comes at this same time that James' song ended.

Cut To:

INT. JAMES' APARTMENT - NIGHT

James jumps up in reaction to the scream and he quickly pauses his (MP3 Player) just as the next song begins.  James gets up and goes to answer the door.

Cut To:

EXT. JAMES' APARTMENT - NIGHT

James opens the door.

James

Can I help you?

SARAH

Your music is really rubbing me the wrong way.

James

Oh, yeah.  Sure.  Coulda just knocked you know...

James quickly closes the door.  Sarah turns around and walks toward her apartment.

Sarah enters her apartment, then her bedroom to find Amanda still reading her book.

Suddenly the TV can be heard from the other room instead of music.  With Amanda watching, Sarah calmly pauses, then picks up a tennis racket and once again exits the apartment.  Amanda stares for a moment, then returns to her book for a moment.  Then:

AMANDA

Sarah, Wait!  I'll go this time!

Amanda jumps out of her bed and chases after Sarah.
